2023 Municipal: 8 vote centers open for Grant County voters 

WHERE YOU CAN VOTE ON ELECTION DAY:

Grant County now has Vote Centers instead of precinct polling sites. Every eligible Grant County voter can vote at ANY of the 11 sites listed below on Election Day (Nov. 7, 2023), 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

 

Vote Centers provide more flexibility for voters and require fewer poll workers to provide the same level of service. The switch to Vote Centers should help even out the traffic as compared to precinct sites, some of which perpetually had lines and others of which were very sparsely used most of the day. And no one at a Vote Center will ever be turned away for being at the wrong polling place! So in terms of a potentially high turnout election, the flexibility of Vote Centers increases voters’ options and access. 

 

Any Grant County voter can choose any of the following locations to vote on Election Day:

Vote centers in Marion:

  • YMCA, 123 Sutter Way

  • The Tabernacle (formerly known as Calvary Social Brethren Church), 304 N. Miller Ave.

  • St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1204 W. 14th St.

  • Lakeview Wesleyan Church, 5316 S. Western Ave.

Vote centers in Gas City / Jonesboro:

  • First Christian Church, 401 E.N. "D" St., Gas City 

  • Westview Wesleyan Church, 130 W. 6th St., Jonesboro

Vote center in Fairmount:

  • The Shelter at Playacres Park, 300 E. Madison St. 

​

Vote center in Upland:

  • Upland Community Church, 439 W. Berry Ave.

​

NO VOTING at vote center in Sweetser, Swayzee, or Van Buren (no contested races)

EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING:
Starts 10/11/23!

>> Grant County Courthouse, downtown Marion

  • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. M-F through Nov. 3

  • 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the two Saturdays before Election Day (Oct. 28 and Nov. 4)

  • 8 a.m. to noon Monday, Nov. 6

The city of Marion's bus system offers rides to the polls within city limits by appointment.

For early in-person voting, they will pick you up from anywhere within the city limits and take you to the Grant County Courthouse.

​

On Election Day, they will pick you up from anywhere in within the city limits and take you any of the three polls within the city limits, the YMCA, and Calvary Social Brethren Church, and St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
